Entry fees: 

$20 per competitor for 2000 meter and 1000 meter events 

$10 per competitor for the 500 meter Dash events.

Late Entries: NO RACE DAY entries will be accepted.

PIRC's will be racing 30-40 ergs at once. 

Masters 1000 meter events:A Master's distance of 1000 meters is available for those rowers who are getting ready for spring racing season and are not interested in qualifying 2000 meters for the WIRC but want to line-up with the other fast masters teams in the region.

NOTE: 500 and 1000 meter events are NOT USRowing/C.R.A.S.H.-B travel stipend qualifying events.

 

All Event Information:

Distances: 2000 meters, 1000 meters, 500 meters

Damper Setting: The Concept II Model D indoor rower will be used for the race. Competitors may choose the damper setting they prefer but cannot change the setting during the race.

Format: All races will be finals. In events with more than the number of ergs, seeded heats will be created based on the erg score submitted with the entry form. The fastest time recorded during all the heats for a particular event will be the winner.

Masters Events: We are planning to run multiple events per wave as able, but times and age categories will be included in the results for use at C.R.A.S.H.-Bs and elsewhere.

 

Qualifying for the USRowing Indoor National Championships/C.R.A.S.H.-B Sprints, held on March 1, 2020:

There are no qualifying times required to enter and race in the USRowing Indoor National Championships/C.R.A.S.H.-B Sprints (more info here). However, Concept2 will will offer a travel stipend to athletes that meet the time standard(also listed below) at a Concept2 sanctioned race in the USA or Canada. The Peninsula Indoor Rowing Championships is a Concept2 sanctioned race. The time standard is based on 2000 meter races ONLY. 500 meter and 1000 meter racing does not count or qualify for USRowing’s/C.R.A.S.H.-B’s event.

Per Concept2, to receive the travel stipend, you must do the following:

  • Row in a 2,000m event at a sanctioned race on our online calendar and meet the time standards below.*

  • You must race at the USRowing Indoor National Championships in the same weight category as you do in the sanctioned race.*

  • Make your own travel arrangements to Boston, MA.

  • You will receive a $200 travel stipend from Concept2 after you have competed at the national championships.

*We have reached out to Concept2 to inquire about the U17 and U19 Lightweight categories listed as “N/A” below, and to address other matters concerning weight class related to USRowing’s new lightweight directives.

Para-Rowing Travel Stipend Qualifying Times:Per Concept2, time standards for para-rowing will be added shortly.

Lightweight Weigh-in Information:

All lightweight competitors must weigh in no earlier than 2 hours and no later than 1 hour prior to their heat start time. Weigh-ins will open at 7:00 AM. Competitors must weigh in dressed in race attire (unisuit or T-shirt and shorts). If a competitor does not make weight, they may race in their original time slot but their time will be recorded in the OPEN weight classification.

Women, all: 135.0 lbs.

Men, all: 165.0 lbs.

 

 

Additional Race Information:

  • All competitors must check in at least 45 minutes prior to your start time otherwise you will be scratched from your event.

  • All competitors must register on Regatta Central.

  • Any competitor who meets the USRowing/C.R.A.S.B.-B qualifying time for their event must follow Concept2’s instructions at https://www.concept2.com/indoor-rowers/racing/usrowing-indoor-national-championships-time-standards

  • There will be warm-up ergs. Please plan your warm-up time carefully.

  • Snacks are available via vending machine, but feel free to bring your own supplies.

  • Restrooms are available nearby.
