The LOC follows USRowing’s most current Rules of Rowing as they pertain to this regatta.  All rowers, coxswains, and coaches should be familiar with these rules.  If any questions arise regarding these rules, coaches will need to inquire with the LOC. 

Lightweight Events:  A men’s lightweight crew, including a single scull (1x), shall have no rower who weighs more than 160 lbs. …. (b) A women’s lightweight crew, including a single scull (1x), shall have no rower who weighs more than 130 lbs.

Lightweight Weigh-Ins will be between 7:00 am to 7:30 am on Sunday, March 12th.

Competitors must display proof of weight before launching for any lightweight events.

Coxswains:  We do not weigh coxswains.

Novice Events:  A rower competing as a “novice” should be new to rowing in the past 12 months. 

Middle School Events:  Middle school boats will race a 1000 m course on SUNDAY.  1st, 2nd, and 3rd place boats will receive medals.

Masters Racing Distance: Races will be 1000 m and start via floating start. Six-lane course with the option to add a 7th lane.

Masters Handicap System:  Masters events will use the US Rowing Handicaps.
We will NOT be using a staggered start; all handicaps will be calculated at the finish.

Bowballs, Bowmarkers, and Shoes:  No boat will be allowed on the water without a bowball and quick release shoes.  Heel ties must be in place and secure.  Please bring your own bow markers and place them on your boat before you launch.

Masters Practice Session on Saturday:  NO Saturday practice is available due to the Youth Regatta that day.

Cancellation due to Inclement Weather:  If weather prohibits racing on Sunday, priority will be given to the levels of crews that are most experienced and that conditions allow for racing.  For example, a Masters 8+ will take place over a sculling event.

There will be no refunds due to inclement weather.

Awards:  Medals will be awarded in each heat.
