Florida Masters Regatta

May 17th, 2008

 

General Information:

The FL Masters Regatta is a US Rowing registered event with six buoyed lanes and stake-boats. All races are 1K, and follow the US Rowing Algorithm for handicaps.

The park will be open until 7pm on Friday for tent and trailer set-up.

Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded regardless of number of entries for each event.

T-shirts will be on sale at the course, as well as small food and beverage items.

Teams will need to be responsible for bringing trash bags and clean-up of area.

 

After racing, all masters are invited to Bubbalous BBQ at 5818 Conroy Rd, corner of Conroy and Kirkman. We have an inside patio reservation beginning 12:30 pm. Please  RSVP if your team is planning go make it so they can prepare the buffet, around $6.50 to $8.00 per person.

Registration is available through www.regattacentral.com and closes May 10th

Heat sheet posted/sent May 12th

Waivers and Payments received by May 16th to PO Box 547802, Orlando, FL  32854. The US Rowing Waiver can also be submitted electronically through www.regattacentral.com

Entry Fees:

Eights - $60

Fours, Quads - $45

Doubles, Pairs - $30

Singles - $15

 

Scratch fee is $25 past registration deadline.

Late Entries – add $25 past May 10th

 

Rules:

Masters are rowers who are at least 27 years of age this calendar year. Crews that use younger athletes are encouraged to enter in the Open events, although it's not mandatory.  Handicaps will be given based on the average age of the crew.

Coxswains may be any age, and female coxswains will be permitted in men's crews and vice versa. There is no minimum weight for coxswains.

For men's events, female rowers shall be permitted.

In mixed crew events half of the crew, excluding the coxswain, shall be women and half men.

Make Right on Hiawassee

Bill Frederick Park will be on your right within a mile. Follow regatta signs.

·         Vehicles are charged $4 by the park. No exceptions

*Open Events may be compressed into Masters Events if lane space allows. If there are no entries in an event, the schedule may be left as is to accommodate doubling between equipment and athletes.
