Welcome to the 16th Annual OARS Invitational
The Orlando Area Rowing Society is delighted to once again host this event at Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake on Saturday, March 8th, 2014.
The OARS Invitational Regatta is one of the premier rowing events in the southeast, traditionally attracting more than 1,000 rowers from around Florida and neighboring states.
Racing takes place on a 1500 m on beautiful Turkey Lake, with races starting every 7 minutes.
While it is exciting to see the growth of the invitational over the years, it means we must closely monitor the 2 event maximum per rower to ensure the day flows smoothly and ends on time. While we understand this may not be the ideal scenario for all teams, we hope that it will enhance the overall event experience.
Please note that all boat trailers should be at the park and in position by 6:45 AM.
The OARS Invitational Regatta is free for all spectators, but there is a $4 fee for parking at Bill Frederick Park. Spectators are invited to bring chairs or blankets for comfortable viewing along the lake.
Parking and restrooms are available on site. We will also have food and merchandise vendors, as well as the latest Toyota vehicles on display from OARS team sponsor, Central Florida Toyota.
We are looking forward to a race day full of excitement and success. See you on March 8th!
