We will have medals, food trucks (taco fusion this year!), and loads of fun seeing old friends and making new ones! Capital Sprints is sanctioned by USRowing.
RACE COURSE: All races will be 1,000 meters. We will run five lanes, tide permitting. The course map is may be found HERE. A visual of course lane markers is HERE.

RACE CATEGORIES: Capital Sprints will include masters, novice, juniors, inclusion, and adaptive events. There will be men's, women's, and mixed gender events, as well as 1x and 2x open gender events.
INCLUSION EVENTS: Inclusion lineups must be composed of at least 50% para rowers. Inclusion partners may be any gender. While rowers are generally required to represent only one club at a regatta, inclusion partners may represent the club of the para rowers in an inclusion event.
MIXED EVENTS: In mixed events, at least 50% of the rowers must be women. The other rowers may be any gender.
OPEN GENDER EVENTS: Rowers of any gender and any combination of gender lineups are welcome to participate in Open Gender events.

Scheduling questions/requests should be sent to [email protected] with cc to [email protected] and [email protected]
SAFETY: The Regatta Safety Plan can be found HERE. Race day is expected to be very hot. We will have a misting tent and water for racers but please come prepared. If conditions become unsafe, we will halt racing.
REQUESTS FROM THE ORGANIZERS:
1) Please bring your own bow numbers, if possible.
2) To cut down on plastic waste, please bring reusable water bottles. We have potable water on site.
3) Have fun and be kind to our volunteers.
PARKING
TRAILER PARKING: IMPORTANT! We have space for a maximum of nine trailers. Teams with trailers must notify us of their plans to bring a trailer at the time of registration and schedule an arrival time and/or request any special accommodation by contacting Gretchen at [email protected] and [email protected]. Overnight parking will be available for trailers arriving Friday (6/27) evening. We will try to accommodate every request but please note that actual trailer placement is on a first come, first served basis. If you are sharing a trailer with one or more other teams, please designate one team to be your "Trailer Lead." The Trailer Leader should submit the request for trailer parking on behalf of all the teams that will share the trailer. That is, please submit one parking request per trailer.
CAR TOPPERS: NEW! We are not able to provide parking for scullers who are car-topping, but you may unload your boat at the regatta site and park your car at Maritime Plaza (see additional details below). We apologize for this inconvenience and the extra time it will take.
PARKING FOR ROWERS AND SPECTATORS: Parking for rowers and spectators will be at Maritime Plaza, Upper Deck Parking Lot at 1201 M Street SE DC, which is approximately 0.5 mile from the boathouse and race course. Upon entering M Street, Regatta volunteers will direct you to the appropriate location. Please display this PARKING PASS.
FREE SHUTTLE: A free shuttle will offer pick up and drop off service for rowers and spectators between the Maritime Plaza parking lot and the boathouse. The shuttle will start running at 6:00 AM
DROP OFF: Rowers and spectators may be dropped off in a private vehicle near the boathouse at the designated drop off location. Please do not park on the roadside near the boathouse; those spots are reserved for referees and handicapped rowers and spectators. We also need to ensure space for access of emergency vehicles and shuttle drop-off and turnaround.
