The Philadelphia Indoor Classic will take place on February 22, 2025, at Philadelphia City Rowing’s indoor facility at 4017 Cambridge Street, Philadelphia. This dynamic event is designed to bring together the greater Philadelphia rowing community and beyond, welcoming participants from clubs and high schools within a 1–2-hour radius, including Baltimore, Delaware, New Jersey, and New York. With 300 participants expected, the event will feature exciting race categories, including the traditional 2,000m race, the high-stakes 500m “Dash for Cash”, and the team-focused #PCR10kChallenge—completed solo or as part of a relay.

Event Features:

  • 2000m Race: A staple of indoor rowing competitions.
  • 500m Dash for Cash: A thrilling short sprint where the winner takes 50% of the entry fees.
  • #PCR10kChallenge: Participants can tackle a 10,000m row individually or as part of a 2- or 4-person relay team, inspired by PCR’s successful virtual challenge.

This event is more than just a competition—it’s a celebration of camaraderie, community, and the transformative power of rowing.

Mission Alignment:
The Philadelphia Indoor Classic reflects Philadelphia City Rowing’s (PCR) commitment to providing free, life-changing opportunities for youth in Philadelphia’s public schools. PCR’s programs emphasize the physical, mental, and academic benefits of rowing, helping students build discipline, resilience, and leadership skills.

This event directly supports PCR’s mission by:

  • Raising $25,000 to fund PCR’s free rowing and youth development programs, which provide access to physical fitness, academic support, and life skills development for underserved youth.
  • Building awareness and engaging the broader rowing community as allies and supporters of PCR’s mission to create equitable opportunities.
  • Fostering a sense of community, connection, and shared purpose among rowers, spectators, and supporters.

Join us for a day of racing, fun, and impact as we raise critical funds to ensure Philadelphia youth continue to have access to PCR’s transformative programs.
