This year's Pumpkinhead will be on Sunday, October 29th. 
 

The Head of the Colorado is held annually on the last weekend of October. ARC has been hosting this regatta since the mid-1980's. 2023 marks the 39th Annual PumpkinHead Regatta. This 4,000 meter head race on Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas offers events for the following: junior, collegiate, adaptive, inclusive and masters rowers.

If you are wishing to make an entry in an Adaptive event, please note that registration for Adaptive events will be done through the LOC (Austin Rowing Club) rather than through RegattaCentral. Please contact [email protected] to register.

10.28.23 Update

Due to weather we have revised the racecourse and condensed the schedule.  The new condensed schedule is now live and can be found on HereNow.  With the shorter race course and closer start line we do believe boats will fit the spacing.  We will be working with boats to have as many race as can safely do so.  

10.20.23 update:  We have a racecourse determined! The 2023 course will be 3.5k long and start at the ARC docks, rowing through the I-35 bridge and finishing just past the island - no big turn in the basin this year.  The turns are all gradual and there are lots of great spectator locations on the bridges, near the start, at Festival Beach Park, and on the boardwalk.   This is all planned but as with any outdoor sport, adverse weather may impact the racecourse.

We are continuing to evaluate the course for weeds and safety.  IF the weeds get out of hand again this summer, we have multiple steps planned to provide you with a safe race expereince.  The first step is to shorten or adjust the course.  These decisions will happen closer to the regatta day.  We will be doing everything in our power to have a positive and safe racing experience.  Please watch the News page for updates.
