Snowflake Regatta 2021 Hosted by EERI https://eastendrowing.com/

Congratulations to all of the rowers who competed in the 16th Annual Snowflake Regatta! A special thanks to the coaches, families, and friends for making the event safe and fun for the crews. The stresses and losses of the past 20 months seemed to melt away as the master, varsity, JV, and novice rowers took to the water in near perfect rowing condition and to the cheers of the spectators. For some rowers, it was the excitement of a first Regatta. For other rowers, it was the perfect ending to what was otherwise an unusual and solitary rowing season. The spirit of camaraderie and inclusiveness of the rowing community was electrifying.

We are thankful to the Town of Riverhead who provided support to ensure a safe event.  Thanks to the US Rowing officials who provided guidance on COVID and rowing protocols permitting the Snowflake to be a sanctioned US Rowing event. We welcomed our local rowers and participants from a distance including a master's double from the Cambridge Boathouse who took home a first-place after hosting the Head of the Charles.

It takes a village.  Many schools and clubs shared expertise, rowing equipment, and a wakeless to ensure everyone had the opportunity to participate As many of you commented, the Peconic River Walk was bustling with new restaurants, apartments, and stores. With the guidance of town traffic authorities, ubiquitous access to resident parking, restaurant patrons, and boat launching went smoothly. We thank the business and resident community for their hospitality. A huge shout out to our all-volunteer EERI team for launching a safe and fun regatta for all.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!  We are grateful for your support and look forward to future events. Please share any pictures you would like to share!
