ROWAMERICA - St. Charles will be hosting the ROWAMERICA Regatta on October 4th, 2014. The race will be a 5,000 meter head race upon the Fox River. We invite you to come and create your own unique memories. The race will be held in St. Charles, IL. The race has several vantage points - from the new Red Gate bridge walking path, relaxing paddle wheel boats, long bike paths which follow the river during a portion of the race and the finish line at Pottawatomie Park.
Award Ceremony
The ROWAMERICA Regatta will honor the winning athletes and teams starting at 5pm. Athletes must be present to receive their awards.
The ceremony will commence with boat christenings and conclude with race medals and trophy oar presentations.
What to Expect at a Regatta
The ROWAMERICA Regatta is modeled after the Royal Henley Regatta. Whether it is your first regatta, or fiftieth there is a lot to do and see. Rowing regattas are a great place to watch athletes from the upper midwestern region compete. From ages nine to over eighty-nine there is sport and competition to be had and seen.
Dress codes only apply for the Wintech Enclosure and ROWAMERICA paddle wheel tours. There is not a dress code for the athlete, vendor and a majority of the spectator space.
Food, drinks and merchandise will be available at a wide variety of vendor tents.
Wintech Premier Guest
Attendees are encouraged to buy Wintech Premier Guest tickets. These tickets will sellout quickly. So, please make arrangements well in advance.
While the vast majority of the regatta viewing area is free there are several benefits to purchasing Wintech Premier Guest tickets. The chief amongst those is access to the Wintech Enclosure to view the ROWAMERICA Regatta at the finish line and tours on the ROWAMERICA paddle wheel tours.

Wintech Premier Guest - Dress Code
Those attending the Regatta as a Wintech Premier Guest, need to be aware that they must dress in accordance with tradition. Gentlemen are required to wear lounge suits, or jackets or blazers with slacks. Ladies are required to wear dresses, skirts, or pant suites and will not be admitted wearing trousers of any kind. Similarly, no one will be admitted to the Wintech Enclosure, or upon the ROWAMERICA paddle wheel tours wearing shorts or jeans.
Whilst not a requirement, it is customary for ladies to wear hats a la the Kentucky Derby.
Members are particularly asked to bring the dress code to the attention of their Guests, to ensure that the standards are maintained and to avoid the possibility of embarrassment of a Guest being refused admission.
Wintech Premier Guest - ROWAMERICA Paddlewheel Riverboat Tours
Come aboard and embark on a majestic ride on a historic paddlewheel boat. As a Wintech Premier Guest, you can enjoy a three-hour tour which will take you up the Fox River to a unique vantage point to enjoy the races. Here you can experience the rich traditions of rowing, surrounded by the breathtaking fall foliage.
Hors d'oeuvres, as well as beverages will be served.
The morning tour will leave at 7:30am and return at 11:30am.
The afternoon tour will leave at 1pm and return at 4pm.
