We are extremely disappointed to have to cancel this year's Grand Regatta. Due to the lack of experienced water officials, we deemed it potentially unsafe, especially for our Junior and novice crews. This was a very difficult decision that was not made lightly. The GRRC Board holds rower safety as the most important criteria for any rowing event. We are working with Regatta Central to issue refunds to all entrants. We understand your disappointment and share in it. We have a beautiful venue and it is always the highlight of our sprint season to host regional teams on our grounds. We look forward to 2026! 

The Grand Rapids Rowing Club is proud to announce the Grand Regatta on Saturday, June 28, 2025! This regatta is a part of the Meijer State Games of Michigan which is a multi-sport, Olympic-style competition operated by West Michigan Sports Commission and the Michigan Sports Alliance, a 501(c)(3). This 1000m sprint race includes Junior, Open, and Masters events and will be held on the Grand River just north of Riverside Park.

DEADLINE UPDATE: In order to provide our best service to those attending, we require every team to register by June 14. Our Grand Rapids members and Water Officials need time to organize the events and hosting site. If there is availability, we will extend the registration date and will notify teams of the change. 

WAVIER OF LIABILITY: This is a Meijer State Games of Michigan event sponsored by West Michigan Sports Commission. It is a requirement for all rowers to have submitted a waiver of liability. Please have all rowers go online to complete and submit their waiver prior to Saturday.  (waiver will be attached by May 1). 

TRAILER DROP OFF: The GRRC parking lot will be open from 2 - 7pm on Friday night, June 27, for trailer dropoff. Please see the parking design within the Regatta Packet (arriving via email by June 22). Our boathouse is private property and there is no overnight security on the grounds. 

RACE PACKET: Attached is The Grand Regatta Race Packet. We will not have hard copies at the site, so please be sure to download this Packet along with the venue maps and Parking Pass for your tow vehicle and any cartop vehicles. (attachments to be linked at a later date).
