For the Desert Sprints Regatta, 2010 we will be awarding a point trophy for the Men's and Women's Overall Junior Point Champion. In addition, we will be awarding an Arizona Junior Men's and Women's Point Champion contested between the Arizona Programs. The Arizona Champion has usually been awarded at our State's Junior Championship, but unfortunately we will not be hosting that regatta this year.

The Overall Junior Point Champions will receive a trophy that they will be able to take with them from the regatta. The Arizona Junior Champions will have their name engraved on the on-going trophy that is kept here at Tempe Town Lake and these on-going awards will eventually have a home in our Boathouse.

As you can see on the grid above all races will carry an equal amount of points. Points will be awarded based on the number of programs in each event and the placing. Events with only one entry will not be given points, but if that solo entry races over the course they will be awarded a medal. Programs will only receive points for their top finishing boat. Programs will only get points for where they finish, even if they are displaced by another programs second boat.

The following events will be used in the tabulation of points for the Junior Champion:
1) All Junior Events
2) All of the following events if there are more than two Junior programs entered. If there are enough Junior entries in any of these events, a separate race will be created for the junior entries:
Men's Novice 8 and 4+
Women's Frosh/Novice 8 and 4+
Men's and Women's Novice 2x
