The DAN MURPHY INVITATIONAL Event (Catholic Men's High School Linked 4)
From the Informational Packet : "The Dan Murphy Invitational is an "invitation only" event. The race will consist of "crews" of four (4) ergometers each.  Each "crew" will be linked together so that the average split times of the four linked ergometers will be displayed as one boat on the screen. All competitors in the Dan Murphy Invitational must have competed in a previous 2,000 meter event at the 2010 HAMMER."  Teams will be competing for the trophy pictured below ...

Who was  Dan Murphy?

Excerpt from St. Ignatius' website : The story of Daniel Murphy is one of commitment and passion.  The [rower and] sophomore son of Paul and Marcia, Daniel died tragically and suddenly this past fall.  He loved life.  He loved his friends and classmates, his parents and his two sisters.  In one so young, he truly lived what it meant to be a "Man for Others."    To continue reading about Dan Murphy or to make a contribution to either the boat that will bear his name or the endowed scholarship fund, click here ....
