For years, rowers have come together on Lake Wingra each summer to compete at Wingra Sprints and at Badger State Games rowing. This year, Mendota Rowing Club has taken up the banner, and is hosting the inaugural year of Madison Sprints.
Madison Sprints offers events for Juniors, Open, Masters and Novice sweep and scullers. The competition is expected to be lively.
With the University of Wisconsin arboretum on one side, and Vilas Park and Henry Vilas zoo on the other, Lake Wingra is a great venue for a 1000M sprint.
