The Dallas Rowing Club held its first BLAST (Bachman Lake Annual Sprint Trials) in 1983 for colleges only.
Starting in 1986 a Masters Heavyweight 4X and a Masters Lightweight 4X became the breakthrough masters boats
opening up the venue to other events.
Since then BLAST has evolved to include high school/scholastic, juniors, open, masters, and adaptive rowing events.
Now BLAST is a two-day event with the juniors racing on Saturday and the masters racing on Sunday.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of our celebrated event! Check out our medals commemorating this milestone which will be given to all 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers.
