This year the overall winner of the regatta (as determined by comparing individual crew times against their predicted times) will be named the City of Vancouver Rowing Champion by proclamation of Mayor Gregor Robertson.

They will still get their cake, and I suppose they will eat it too. More news on the trophy later but I think it'll be pretty cool.

On other fronts, please look forward to an alumni event this year, where we welcome crews who have rowed at Crofton, UBC, Vancouver College and St George's to return to False Creek to see if they still have it. The Vancouver Oxford and Cambridge Society has also expressed interest in having a bit of a local match for any of their rowers that have moved to the area subsequent to their studies overseas.

And new to the regatta, we will have options for the open water rowers among us for singles and doubles, particularly those from one of our closest neighbouring clubs: Club Locarno at the Jericho Sailing Centre at Spanish Banks.
