Rules and Code of Conduct

Racing will be conducted in accordance with the Rowing Australia Rules of Racing which can be found at: www.rowingaustralia.com.au/comp_rules.shtm.

(Note that the handicap tables in this document have been superseded - see below.)

The Rowing Australia Code of Conduct applies and is available on the RA website.

Handicaps

Note that the handicaps to be used at this regatta will be the revised handicaps adopted by RA late in 2013.  The background to that review and the revised tables can be viewed on the RA website - click here.  A set of the revised handicap tables can be downloaded here.

Handicaps are not used extensively at the Masters Nationals, but are required in events such as Mix H-K 2x, Champion-of-Champions, Single Club Eights and in cases where two or more events with a small number of entries are combined into one race as may occur with such events as MK1x and MJ1x.

Please note that the revised handicaps do not yet appear in RA's Rules of Racing referred to above.  The tables in that document are no longer applicable, and are superseded by the revised tables.

Medals

Medals will be awarded for every event offered in each age grade in championship (single gender) events.  In the final program, where there is expected to be a low number of entries of certain boat types (eg Women's Masters H-K 4+ and 4-), events of different age grades may be combined into one race with a handicap start, but if that occurs medals will be awarded for each age grade in that race as if it were competing separately.

Fastest Club Crew medals will be awarded in the finals of championship events in eights, fours and quads.  The fastest non-composite crew in these finals will receive the medal, regardless of finishing position.
