Unfortunately it looks like the River continues to be extra zippy. We have moved to Level 3 rowing conditions (at least 4 years experience bowing for blind boats, 4-oar rule, experienced/varsity level rowers - no first year rowers).
What does that mean for the regatta tomorrow?
We are cancelling all 1x and 2- events (4-oar rule) and Open Novice events (no first year rowers). Because there are a number of collegiate rowers who also rowed in high school, we are not cancelling the Freshman Collegiate events. Coaches are asked to please consider the experience of your Freshman crews when determining whether they will row. All Freshman Collegiate boats must have an experienced coxswain.
The Coaches, Coxswains and Bows meeting will begin at 7:30a in front of the University of Minnesota Boathouse tomorrow morning. All coaches, coxswains and bows are highly encouraged to attend for river condition updates and new course information (the course is being shortened).
