High School Athletes may compete in Junior Events only. 

Master's Categories (including Mixed events):  USRowing handicaps will apply

Race Distances: Masters and mixed races are 1000 meters; junior races are 2000 meters

Rankings: It is important that coaches give their best boats 'A' ranking, their next best boat 'B' ranking, etc.

There will be NO WALK UP ENTRIES ACCEPTED at the Regatta.     

Scratch deadline:  No credit or refunds will be given for scratched entries after the close of Standard Registration. 

Entry Numbers: Please understand events with only one entry will not be run. Events that have only one club entered with multiple entries will be run.

Lightweight Weigh In:   6:30-8:30   at registration table.    Men    160

     Cox do not have to weigh in.                                            Women     130

     
Regatta Cancellation: Due to the nature of water recreation events, wind, weather or water conditions may cause postponement or cancellation of the regatta. In the unexpected case of regatta cancellation,  No Refunds will be given for entries made. That being said, our first option will always be race postponement, rather than cancellation.

Efficiency Trophies

In 2018, Desert Sprints Regatta will award efficiency trophies for the top Junior club on Saturday and top Masters club on Sunday. Points will be calculated using USRowing criteria: The Efficiency Trophy is calculated by dividing the overall total points for each club (determined using table below) by the number of registered competitors from the corresponding club. Note: A club must have 3 or more competitors in order to qualify.

Drone Policy: FAA Regulations forbid drone use on or around Tempe Town Lake. Tempe Town Lake is in the flight path for Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and drones are prohibited. There is a zero tolerance policy in regards to drones and violation of this policy will result in police action.
