Always in town
Just across the road from the launch site.
The Keeper of the Plains is a 44-foot tall steel sculpture standing at the point where the Big and Little Arkansas rivers join together in downtown Wichita. Nightly a Ring of Fire is lit around the base of the statue. Should be at 9 PM on Saturday and 7 PM on Sunday.
300 N. McLean Blvd. - just across the road and a bridge from the race site.
This museum offers hands-on exhibits that focus on flight, Kansas geography, nanoscience (after May), construction/engineering, medieval life and more.
Also just across the road from the launch site.
Features changing exhibits & traditional & contemporary American Indian art & heritage, as well as artifacts from the Plains, Southeast & Northwest Coast cultural areas.
