CIRC is one of the longest continuous championships in Canada for indoor rowing.  In its 37th year, CIRC has been held in the Greater Toronto Area and grown to be a main event on the indoor racing circuit in North America bringing together over 800 rowers, paddlers and fitness club rowers. 

The indoor rowing community is one of the fastest growing disciplines in the sport of rowing and champions are training in gyms and at home on ergometers all year round as they look forward to competing on the indoor race circuit.

CIRC is organized by the Canadian Indoor Rowing Association, made up by a group of dedicated volunteers.   CIRC has had strong support from Concept 2 over the years.  Concept 2 is the manufacturer of the rowing ergometers used exclusively at the competition.  All ergometers in the race line are brand new directly shipped from the Concept 2 factory in Vermont, U.S.A.

For 2020, the World Rowing Indoor Championships will be held a bit earlier in the winter on February 7-8, 2020 in Paris. If a trip to Paris is not possible,  North American rowers can compete among the best at the USRowing Indoor Championships (USRIC) on March 1, 2020 in Boston.  More information about indoor rowing races can be found on the Concept 2 Website. CIRC is a Concept 2 sanctioned event and all competitors who set a world time standard  (see Concept 2 website) in their age category may be eligible for a travel stipend of $200 if they attend and compete at the US Rowing Indoor Championships on March 1, 2020.  Competitors must reside in North America to be eligible.
