New dates set for Canadian Indoor Rowing Challenge
The Canadian Indoor Rowing Challenge has been rescheduled for Saturday November 7 to Sunday November 8.
The virtual event, which was originally scheduled to take place September 19 to 20, was postponed due to the poor air quality levels affecting the British Columbia region and other parts of Canada from the devastating wildfires in the United States.
Registration is now open and closes on Saturday October 31. Late entries will be accepted unless you are taking part in the HomeRace Challenge option (late fees will apply). Individuals registered for the previous event date will automatically have their registration transferred to the new date.
Anyone with access to a Concept2 rowing machine can participate* by submitting their results online within the 48-hour event window.
Individuals can also choose to register for the HomeRace Challenge, real-time virtual races against High Performance rowers taking place Saturday November 7.
All Canadian registrants will be entered into a draw for the grand prize of an indoor rowing machine. The top three finishers in each race category will receive a digital certificate, and Canadian certificate recipients will be entered into a draw for one of 12 RCA merchandise packages.

As of Monday, October 26, group indoor ergometer programming will be considered sanctioned by RCA. More details and expectations are described here ( link to the member update: https://mailchi.mp/rowingcanada.org/world-cup-508666?e=81f1389b55).

Canadian Indoor Rowing Challenge – Event Postponed
RCA has been monitoring the air quality situation affecting the British Columbia region and other parts of Canada due to the devastating wildfires in the United States. The current air quality levels remain poor with more uncertainty heading into the event weekend of September 19-20. RCA’s advisory for ‘no group indoor activity’ also remains in effect and thus these two factors have led us to make the difficult decision to postpone the Canadian Indoor Rowing Challenge.
We are working on confirming a new event date and will communicate these details shortly.
All current registrants will automatically have their registration transferred to the new event date. We will also offer refunds if requested.
We certainly share in your disappointment however we must prioritize the health and well-being of all our participants. We look forward to announcing our event re- launch in the near future.

NOTICE FOR 'HOMERACE' ENTRANTS:
If you have entered in a 'Homerace' event, please follow the link below to find some essential information for your Homerace event. Time-Team Netherlands have prepared the information to help you understand the technology you need, what to do, how to connect your laptop, and other questions you may have. Please send your latest 2,000m Ergometer score to: [email protected] . This will ensure you are seeded in the correct race.
PRIZES:
All Canadian registrants will be entered into a draw for the GRAND PRIZE of an indoor rowing machine, which will be shipped directly to the winner. The winner will have the option of choosing between a Concept2 or WaterRower machine (of up to a maximum value of CAD$2000).
The top three finishers in each race category will receive a digital certificate. In the event that there are three or less entries in a race category, certificates will be allocated using the ‘Minus One’ rule (for example, if there are only three entries in a race, only certificates for first and second place will be awarded). Certificates will not be awarded in race categories with just one participant.
In addition, Canadian certificate recipients will be entered into a draw for one of the following 12 RCA merchandise packages:
3 Top Prizes (1 per race distance – 500m, 1000m, 2000m)
1 RCA Identity Hoodie, 1 RCA Standard Identity T-Shirt, 1 RCA Emblem Trucker Hat, 1 RCA 5.0L Waterproof Bag, 1 RCA Keychain, 1 RCA Pin
9 Second Prizes (3 per race distance – 500m, 1000m, 2000m)

*Winners will be notified by email following the conclusion of the Canadian Indoor Rowing Challenge. Confirmation of mailing address will be required for all prize winners.
