Halloween Regatta

Racing will be run by coaches, under the direction of Plant High Rowing Association. The coaches in attendance will work together to help provide safe and fair racing for ALL athletes involved.  

SAFETY: All trailers must arrive before 7am, and no trailers may leave until racing is done.

*****Hotseating: Events are grouped to ease launch and recovery bottle neck issues with the venue. These groupings are shown on the schedule with a 'Break' separating them.  We will not be able to accommodate hotseating of equipment or athletes within a single grouping of events.

TSHIRTS - You must have at least one entry in the system by the regular deadline to be included on the TShirt.  

WAIVERS – Must complete the online NOARA waiver as well as bring a paper copy of the TBCRC waiver.  Please see the “Waiver” tab to the right for details. 

FSRA Eligibility Requirements

This race is covered under the FSRA insurance coverage.  It is expected that all teams attending are FSRA members in good standing, conducting themselves in accordance with Article XV of FSRA's Bylaws.

***Freshman: In the Halloween Regatta, Fall Sprints, and Spring Sprints #1, Freshman events are listed as "Freshman/Novice".  These events may be comprised of Freshman and/or Non Freshman athletes who began rowing after April 1st of the current calendar year. Spring Sprints #2 will offer Freshman only events (no upperclassmen novices).  
**Freshman Sculling: Freshman & Novice Sculling is not offered at PHRA Halloween Regatta, but is offered at Fall Sprints, Spring Sprints #1 and Spring Sprints #2.

Rules

  • Teams cannot enter and race a 2nd Varsity 8+ without entering and racing a 1st Varsity 8+.
  • Teams cannot enter and race a 2nd Varsity 4+ without entering and racing a 1st Varsity 4+.
  • Teams cannot enter and race a 3rd Varsity 8+ without entering and racing a 2nd Varsity 8+.
  • Teams cannot enter and race a 4th Varsity 8+ without entering and racing a 3rd Varsity 8+.
  • Teams cannot enter and race a 2nd Freshman/Novice 8+ without entering and racing a 1st Freshman/Novice 8+

  • Junior events may be entered independently of all other categories.

  • Junior events are restricted to competitors in the 11th grade (junior year) or lower AND who have not attained the age of 18 years prior to September 1st of the current academic year.
  • Freshman events are restricted to competitors in the 9th grade (freshman year) or lower.
    • In Fall, Freshman events are listed as "Freshman/Novice".  These events may be comprised of Freshman and/or Non Freshman athletes who began rowing after April 1st of the current calendar year. 
  • It is the individual teams responsibility to make sure all boats will be equipped with a protective bow ball and quick release shoes.  Bow coxed boats will have openings sized in accordance with the Rules of Rowing of the United States Rowing Association.  
  • All boats will be supplied bow numbers.  It is the team’s responsibility to return these to control commission (dock area) after racing.  Missing bow numbers will result in a $20 fee.   
  • Lightweight male rower maximum weight: 155 lbs. for Halloween, Fall Sprints, and Spring Sprints #1, 150 lbs for Spring Sprints #2
  • Lightweight female rower maximum weight: 135 lbs. for Halloween, Fall Sprints, and Spring Sprints #1, 130 lbs for Spring Sprints #2
