Riverside Sprints

  • Hosted By: Riverside Boat Club
Racing Format:
Morning Time Trials:
Seeding time trials in the morning (held for events with 5 or more entries) will be 1000m time trials from a standing start.  Time trials will be conducted in lanes 1 & 2 of the course.  Boats will start every 30 seconds, head race style.  Odd numbers will race only in lane 1, even numbers only in lane 2.  The course begins downstream of Weeks Footbridge and ends downstream of the Riverside dock.  Elapsed times from these time trials, for each event, will be rank-ordered and the top 4 fastest times from that grouping will advance to a 4-lane afternoon A-final, times 5-8 will advance to the afternoon B-final, and so on.

Afternoon ¼ Mile Dash Finals:

All finals will be 4-lane 1/4mile dashes from a standing start, beginning just downstream of the River Street Bridge and ending past the Riverside Dock at the same finish line used in the morning time trials.

Bow Numbers:

Competitors that own bow numbers are encouraged to bring and use them.  Please check the heat sheet on Thursday 5/15 (Riverside Sprints Schedule / Heat Sheets) for your lane assignment.  It will be between 1 and 16 for morning time trials.  For afternoon finals, bow #’s will run from lanes 1-4, and will be assigned AFTER the morning time trials for events with 5 or more entries, or will be available immediately (for events with 4 or fewer entries).  Riverside Boat Club will have bow numbers available on the dock for boats requiring them – they MUST be returned to the dock.
