FSRA Central District Championship Regatta

FSRA Central District Championship - Rules and Eligibility

  • Racing will be conducted under the USRowing "Rules of Racing"  and FSRA Rules
  • Racing distance will be 1500 meters using floating starts, no breakage zone
  • All FSRA teams must be in good standing with the association prior to racing
  • Athletes will be permitted to "double" and are limited to 2 events
  • Medals will be awarded to the first place crew in each event
  • Events with lower entry counts will be combined with other events; medals and results will still be scored to their respective events
  • All athletes must have a completed FSRA / NOARA waiver on file through their regatta central compliance
  • An Eligible Athlete is a competitor who in the current calendar year does not attain the age of 19 and has been enrolled in secondary school as a full-time student seeking a diploma from the State of Florida, or who in the current calendar year did attain the age of 19 and is and has been continuously enrolled in secondary school as a full-time student seeking a diploma from the State of Florida.  A competitor thus ceases to be an Eligible Athlete after December 31 of the year of his or her 18th birthday, or of the year in which he or she completes the 12th grade of secondary school
  • All race results will be used to assist in seeding for the FSRA Sweep and Sculling State Championships
  • Scratches -  All scratchces made after the entry deadline forfeit their entry fee, scratches on race day and no-call no-shows will incur a $50 scratch fee
  • Protests - Protests should be registered on the water with the official per USRowing rules, must be accompanied with a $50 fee on land, returned if the portest is upheld
  • Composite crews are not permitted at this event
  • Lightweight crew maximum weights are 150 for male rowers and 130 for female rowers
  • Junior rowers are restricted to competitors in the 11th grade or lower, AND who have not attained the age of 18 prior to the current academic year
  • Freshman events are restricted to competitors in the 9th grade or lower
  • Teams cannot enter a 2V without entering a 1V; 3V without a 2V; 4V without a 3V; 2F without a 1F
  • Lightweight and Junior events may be entered independently of Varsity events
  • Inclement Weather Procedure - Race Officials and the LOC will monitor the weather prior and throughout the event, should it be deemed necessary the Regatta Committe would shorten the course and prioritize events and determine which races could occur during the time window while being safely conducted, coaches would be notified via text and email
