Event Age Classes

Competitors are assigned to events based on USRowing Age ClassesA Competitor's age class is determined by their age on December 31, 2024. For example, a rower who is 18 years old on the day of Erg Sprints and has a birthday after Erg Sprints and before December 31, 2024 will be assigned to the U23 category. The assignments are made automatically based on the birthdate entered into RegattaCentral. 

Masters Crews are classified by age according to the following categories:

  • (AA) 21 to 26 years,
  • (A) 27 to 35 years,
  • (B) 36 to 42 years,
  • (C) 43 to 49 years,
  • (D) 50 to 54 years,
  • (E) 55 to 59 years,
  • (F) 60 to 64 years,
  • (G) 65 to 69 years,
  • (H) 70 to 74 years,
  • (I) 75 to 79 years,
  • (J) 80 to 84 years,
  • (K) 85 to 89 years,
  • (L) 90 to 94 years,
  • (M) 95 to 99 years, and
  • (N) 100 and over.

 

Event Assignments

Check back for preliminary event assignments.  

Preliminary event times will be posted after early registration. The official event schedule will be posted at www.ergsprints.com/schedule the week before Erg Sprints. Minor changes are possible so please check back in the week before Erg Sprints.

 

Open Gender Events

Erg Sprints has the following open gender events:  

  • 2000 Meter
  • 500 Meter
  • 2000 Meter Relay

Competitors can select an open gender division during event registration. For example, to register for the 2000M Open Gender divistion, select 'Open 2000M' from the Event List page, and on the next page in the drop down menu you will see 'Open Gender' as one of the divisions. Choose "Open Gender" and then proceed with the rest of the registration process. 

Erg Sprints follows policies on gender identity and inclusion set by USRowing.

 

Lightweights

Erg Sprints has the following lightweight classes:

  • 2000 Meter
  • Marathon
  • 30-Minute

All events are open-weight. Lightweight competitors register as open weight; after weigh-in competitors are assigned to a lightweight class within the open-weight event and are eligible to medal as a lightweight. There are no lightweight youth categories.
