SCHEDULE

DOORS OPEN AT 7:00AM

Athlete check-in opens at 7AM Saturday and closes one hour prior to the scheduled event time. Athletes will receive an Athlete Check-in Card at check-in. Do not lose this card.

Rowers and their coaches are expected to complete the check-in process in a timely manner to allow the rower to become oriented and to warm up before the event. Assume there will be a line. It is the responsibility of the rower to be at the venue early enough to complete check-in and weigh-in. Refunds will not be granted for late arrivals.

Rowers should report to the warm up room 45 minutes prior to their event start time. 

EARLY EVENT WARMUPS

Early events will warm up on the race floor. 

  • Marathon competitors must be at their assigned erg by 7:15AM for warm-up and 7:30AM start.
  • Junior women 20-Minute events must report to race floor by 7:30AM for warm-up and 8:00AM start.
  • Junior men 20-Minute events must report to warm-up room by 7:45AM for warm-up and 8:30AM start.

WAIVERS

All rowers under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. There are NO EXCEPTIONS. ALL rowers must sign a USRowing waiver. No exceptions.

All rowers who are members of USRowing (or members of an affiliated club) must have signed a USRowing online waiver (membership.usrowing.org). For membership and waiver instructions, visit USRowing Individual Membership FAQs

Rowers who are not a member of USRowing must bring a signed USRowing paper waiver to check-in.

SAME DAY REGISTRATION

Online registration has closed, however same day registration is available for the C2 Triathlon, Coxswain, Relays, 500M Sprints, Parent/child, and Kids events at check-in tables. Entries close 1 hour before the scheduled event time.

20 seats are available in the “Bullpen” for 2,000M events only. Report to the Bullpen check-in table. Bring a printed & signed USRowing waiver. Entry fee is $50 and payable by credit card or cash. The event is at 10:30 AM. Bullpen competitors are not eligible for medals, results do not count toward team points, and results are flagged “Bullpen.

LIGHTWEIGHT WEIGH-IN

All events are open-weight. Lightweight competitors weigh-in and are assigned to a lightweight class within the open-weight event and eligible to medal as a lightweight. Athletes must check-in first and then proceed to the lightweight weigh-in off the race floor.

Lightweight class for 2000M, Marathon events, and 30-minute only. There are no lightweight classes for C2 Triathlon, Coxswain, Relays, 500M Sprints, Parent/child events. There are no lightweight youth categories.

TRANSPORTATION and PARKING

Erg Sprints is held at Alexandria City High School (main campus), 3330 King Street, Alexandria VA, 22302. 

We strongly encourage carpooling or the use of taxis, ride sharing services, buses, or complimentary hotel shuttles.

Free parking is available at several sites in close proximity to Alexandria City High School at 3330 King St., Alexandria, VA 22302. Visit https://www.ergsprints.com/travel-info for details and directions.

When you arrive at Alexandria City High School, please enter the traffic circle off of King Street at the west end of the school. If the parking garage has vacancy, you'll be directed into it. If not, you'll be directed to one of several other lots on the other side of the school or in the very nearby community. The farthest away you should expect to park or walk is ½ mile (about a 10 minute walk) from the venue. You will also be allowed to drop off passengers in the traffic circle in front of the school before parking. 

Please follow posted city parking regulations. Cars parked illegally may be ticketed or towed. Consult the on-hand police or ample volunteer parking staff if you have questions.

Purchase a raffle ticket for $10 and get 2 chances to win a Concept2 RowErg! Two drawings Saturday, February 4, 2023 – 10:30AM and 1:30PM. You do not have to be present to win. Raffle winners who have already purchased an erg are guaranteed to have the full purchase price of the erg refunded!

FOOD

Great food options this year! In addition to the famous chili and sandwiches and variety of wholesome snacks, Alexandria Community Rowing will also be selling pizza by the slice!
