Rules
- Rowers must compete under their own names and within the proper age class. Use of false identification or pseudonyms may lead to disqualification.
- Entry substitutions are not allowed. Athletes may not compete in place of anyone else.
- Payment will not automatically be refunded upon scratching, and not all scratches will be eligible for a full or partial refund.
- Athletes are responsible for checking the official race times for their event and checking in 1 hour prior to their initial event. Every effort will be made to finalize the race schedule several days before the first race. Athletes can scratch (withdraw from) events at any time at the check-in table.
- All competitors must wear proper clothing. This includes a shirt that covers their torso and shorts while in the venue, or a uni-suit or other apparel that covers their torso and buttocks.
- Rowers may set the drag factor prior to the race but cannot make adjustments once their race begins. Rowers may not turn off their monitor once the race begins; if they do so they forfeit the race.
- Athletes who choose to use headphones assume any associated risk.
- The use of performance enhancing drugs is prohibited.
- Food is not allowed in the competition area, but is allowed throughout the rest of the venue. Water is allowed in the competition area.
- The University of Oregon is a smoke-free and tobacco free university. Smoking or vaping of any kind, or the consumption of tobacco in any form, is not permitted on University property, indoors or outdoors.
- Volunteers will record erg screens manually as a backup to computer timing.
- Modifications to the competition erg are not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of USB drives or alternative foot plates.
- The format is “Finals Only”. Competitors will be randomly seeded into heats where an event has multiple heats. The best overall time for each event wins.
- Competitors who choose to compete at more than one event choose to do so at their own risk.
- Competitors who are not in the staging area 5 minutes before the start of the race may be scratched.
- All individuals under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
- Physical contact with a competitor is not allowed while racing.
Waiver
All athletes must sign the Waiver; if the waiver is not signed at the time of registration it must be signed at check-in. Athletes under 18 must also have the waiver signed by a parent or guardian over the age of 18. Waivers will be available to sign on race day.
