Summer Rowing League 1/2 Session - Monday
This 6-week Summer Rowing League (SRL) program is designed for rowers of all abilities who wish to row once a week. During the 90-minute 1:1 ratio coached practice sessions, rowers will learn basic rowing technique and boat moving skills, both on land and on the water, in a fun and low intensity environment. Designed for rowers to have fun, participants will have the opportunity to learn rowing technique, both on an erg and in our in-door tanks prior to hitting the water. Rowers will work together as a team in an eight-person shell. Teams are made of 10 rowers with a mix of male and female rowers. An end of Summer Regatta (race) and cookout will take place at the Frank Lloyd Wright Boathouse for all participants. Why 11 rowers per team and not 8? We want to ensure if 1-2 members of your team can't make practice due to work or family commitments, your 8 person shell can still go out for practice. Summer Rowing League begins the week of July 7th and runs through August 11th. Practices which fall on holidays will be rescheduled at the convenience of the coach and crew. WSRC Intermediate Masters 2x Per Week - Summer
This NEW program is designed for experienced rowers with 1+ year(s) of on-water rowing experience. This program works to specifically refine technique, increase speed, and make connections with other passionate rowers in eights (8+). Depending on program size, coxswain and shell availability, rowers may also utilize fours (4+). Intermediate participants are able and encouraged to compete at home regattas such as the West Side Invitational and the Head of the Niagara Regatta. This program operates two coached practice sessions per week with access to the boathouse during the duration of the program for all program participants. Mixed gender boats will be categorized for both practice and for specific regattas. (If you don’t meet these criteria but are eager to start rowing (or get back on the water after a hiatus), you are encouraged to participate in WSRC’s Summer Rowing League (SRL) program. The program is great if you’re not quite ready to make the jump to Masters, however, would like to still attend regattas and improve your overall technique and fitness).
Practice Time: Monday and Wednesday from 6:00-7:30 p.m. (Program Capped at 30 Athletes)
June 2nd - August 13 (11-week program) ——> Regatta fees and coxswain fees (if applicable) are not included in the registration price. (Note: Fall Intermediate begins immediately following the summer program)
