Rowing Invitation - Maine Rowing Association and Bates College Rowing invite single and double scullers to participate in the Thirty-second Annual Head of the Androscoggin on Sunday September 17, 2017.  From the start line adjacent to the new Bates College Boathouse, row upstream on the Androscoggin River approximately 1.5 miles and return to the start line.

Club Membership - All athletes must be members of Maine Rowing Association.  You must be or become a member of Maine Rowing Association at or before 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017.  To become a member of Maine Rowing Association, please click the following: 2017 MRA Membership.

Registration - To register, go to the Registration Form section in the navigation bar or click HERE.  The only club affiliation you should list on your entry is "Maine Rowing Association."  You must register for the Head of the Androscoggin at or before 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017.

Event Waiver Required - After you have registered, go to the Waiver section in the navigation bar or click HERE.  You must agree to the event waiver at or before 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017.

Classes - Open to males and females; all ages; masters, open, high school and junior.  Classes will be determined based on demographics of entrants and, therefore, some events may be combined.

Boats - Racing shells and recreational shells; singles and doubles.

Event Day Schedule

7:00 am     Gate to venue is opened.  Please do NOT arrive before 7:00 am.
7:30-8:15   Registration and bow number assignment
8:15 am      Rowers' meeting and important course description

9:00 am      Race starts, head style at 10 to 20 second intervals
