The 141st Royal Canadian Henley Masters Regatta

  • Hosted By: Canadian Henley Regatta Joint Committee Corporation
  • Sanctioned by RCA & ON (2025)

April 25, 2025

Welcome to the 2025 Royal Canadian Henley Masters.  It is an exciting year as many changes are being made to improve the racing experience for all. Your feedback and comments from the past few years have been incorporated into these changes. We will continue to seek feedback following the 2025 Canadian Henley Masters to ensure we provide the best Henley experience possible.

2025 Henley Masters Overview

The total number of events on the race schedule has increased from 56 to 81.

Races will be scheduled based on the Preliminary Draw at 6-minute centres.

Every effort has been made to set the new race schedule to allow for a minimum of 30-minute turnaround between races.

Considerations are being made to have the warm-up bay open for crews. Once crews commit to enter the course at the gates, they will need to row down in their lane and there would be no looping.

The medals will not be engraved to allow for more racing as outlined below

Each Henley Masters Event has an Event Cap of 7 and a Club Cap of 1. Any additional entries will be placed on a Waitlist. See Waitlist Policy (Rules, Regulations & Policies).

Registering for Henley Masters, account holders will enter race events, some of which have been combined into event groups.

For events that have crews on the Waitlist.

Once the entry deadline closes, those events will be reviewed to determine if they can be split and create races.

For multi-category (handicap events) events, the Regatta Committee will try to split a multi-category event. Ex. Men C-D 2X with 14 entries, 7 Cs and 7 Ds, the Regatta Chair has the discretion to possibly split the event into a C 2x and a D 2x.

For single category events, the event will be split into two races and the fastest time from the two races will be declared the winner. Ex. the Women C 2X has 14 entries at close of entries, two 7 boat races will be created, and the fastest time will be the winner.

The Regatta Committee will work with account holders whose entries have been Waitlisted to provide additional options to race in other events. The main benefit of having Event Groups is that it allows Waitlisted account holders to enter different Events with a relatively small schedule change and reduces the need for handicaps.

The Regatta Chair has the discretion to add additional races to the race schedule. Added races take into consideration the effect of the new race schedule on all stakeholders at the regatta.

See the Henley Masters website for more information.
