FRIDAY PRACTICE SESSION:

All crews must be off water no later than 6:00 pm.
SPECIAL AWARDS FOR ROWING EXCELLENCE:
There are three (3) HS Varsity races and two (2) Masters races with a large number of entries. As a special way to reward the very best in each category, we will be giving out a special "Fastest Overall" trophy for the fastest boats in each of these five (5) events. The Masters events will be based on net handicapped time.
Four (4) of these events take place in the am session. Therefore, these awards will be presented to the winning rowers during the lunch break.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE RACE COURSE:
This is a FISA 1 type course using an Albano system of inflated buoys every 10 meters. There are six fully buoyed lanes; we will also be using a 7th outside lane in some events.
On the 1500 m course, the first 100 m will be marked by Red buoys. This is the breakage area for restarts.
There will also be a line of Red buoys at every 250 m along the course, and the entire last 250 m of the course will be marked by Red buoys as well.
SCULLING AT THE STARTING LINE:
Please ensure that all rowers know and understand how to follow Referee instructions regarding Sculling at the Start Line in order to line up boats without moving them forward.
All teams that will be cooking must have a fire extinguisher in the cooking area.
Please take advantage of our Awards Banner for team photo shots.

SARASOTA is a great place to spend the weekend. Part of the Cultural Coast, you can find excellent theater, museums such as the Ringling Museum, shopping on St. Armand's, and of course our famously beautiful beaches including the sugar white sands of Siesta Key and beyond. Please visit the Sarasota Convention & Visitors Bureau at www.sarasotafl.org to plan your trip!
DINING Sarasota and Her Islands are also known for world-class restaurants that you'll no doubt want to try while visiting. There are more Zagat-rated restaurants within a 20-mile radius of Sarasota than anywhere else in Florida. There are also plenty of great family friendly restaurants in the area. So whatever your palate desires while on your visit, you will find it in beautiful Sarasota. Please visit the Sarasota Dining Guide on the Food & Dining Tab to the lower left.
The Sarasota Convention & Visitors Bureau will have a tent on site during the regatta with information about Sarasota, its restaurants, and other activities to enjoy while here.
