The event is at Rocketts Landing which is close "5 minutes drive" from downtown Richmond hotels.

 

The closest hotels are The Omni Richmond 100 S 12th  Street and  The Berkley. You could walk from these two in 15 minutes.

 

The others listed below in the link you probably need to drive from. but still only 5 minutes.

If you want to be a little further away , and maybe a little cheaper  the hotels at Richmond International Airport  are about 15 minutes drive to the East of the regatta site at Rocketts Landing. The usual chain hotels are at the airport, and the drive is very simple from the airport on I64 to Downtown Richmond.

 

If you want something more expensive and perhaps stay in an icon you may want to try the  "relatively famous"  Jefferson Hotel. http://www.jeffersonhotel.com  This is still in Downtown Richmond  but perhaps 10 minutes drive from the regatta course.
