The MACRA Regatta has a proud history dating to the 1964/65 season:
"...The first annual Mid America Rowing Association Regatta was held on the Wabash River at Purdue. With only four lanes, heats were necessary in the varsity category....In the Varsity (Men's) final Marietta led all the way to defeat Wayne State by over two lengths with Purdue third and Kansas State fourth." -- From Coach Ralph Lindamood's history of Marietta Crew
