Doors will open at 7:00am.  The first race is at 8:00am.

 

Rules and Procedures

ALL ENTRIES MUST BE MADE THROUGH REGATTACENTRAL. PLEASE NOTE THE ENTRY DEADLINE AND LATE FEES FOR ENTRIES MADE AFTER THE REGULAR DEADLINE.

CHECK-IN

All rowers should check in 30 minutes prior to their event.

WAIVERS

All rowers must sign a US Rowing waiver on-line or check-in.  Minors (under 18) must have a parent or guardian’s signature.

CONDUCT

Please do not fall off your erg after you have completed your race, you could impede progress of the rower in the next lane.

Upon completion of the race place handle on the handle cradle. DO not let you handle slap up against the erg machine.

 

RACE FLOOR PROCEDURE

WARM –UP AREA

Warm-up ergs are available before your event.

Please allow competitors in earlier races to warm up before you.

10 to 15 minutes before the scheduled race please check in with the clerk of course. All rowers will be given a registration card that will provide lane assignment.  Please give this card to the timer or lay on the floor next to your erg.

 

RACE FLOOR

Alert Medical staff to any health-related issues.

Hand your athlete Registration Card to a Timer.

 

BEFORE THE START

Get settled quickly.

Confirm that your name is on the monitor.

Adjustments are allowed to seat, foot stretcher, vent, and drag factor only.  Please do not attempt to make adjustments to the PM5.

You are permitted a single coxswain who is to stay to your left rear.  Coxswains may not be beside or in front of the rower. No Chairs Allowed in competition area.

START

Rowers will take the start command from the PM5 monitor on the Concept2 Erg.  The visual commands will be “Sit ready,” “Attention,” “Row.” The clock start with the “ROW” command and not after the handle is pulled.

 

DURING THE RACE

If you erg becomes disconnected from the Concept2 Venue Racing System DO NOT STOP ROWING.  After about 10 seconds, the PM5 monitor will display “KEEP ROWING” at the bottom of the screen.  All data is retained in the PM5.  Your time will be recorded on your Athlete Registration Card and entered manually.

 

END OF THE RACE

Alert Medical staff, referee or regatta official immediately if you experience abnormal breathing or other health problems.

 

Stay on your erg until instructed to leave. Leave the race floor as directed by the officials.  Coxswains may also leave by the same route as the rower.

 

Please note there are no novice categories for Junior events.

Juniors & Masters age categories: Please enter the age category for your age on the date of the regatta. For example, if you are 16 years old on February 16 then you should enter the J16 event. 

 

Junior Lightweight: Boys - 150lb max. Girls - 130lb max. 

 

College Novice: Participation is allowed to college students in their first year of collegiate rowing competition.

 

College Lightweight: Men - 160lb max. Women -135lb max. 

Awards will be presented in all events where there is at least one entry. Please email the regatta/event host with any related questions.
