UPDATED SCHEDULE

Attached is the updated schedule for Saturday.

  • Start time has been moved to 7:30AM
  • Order of events has changed based on FSRA's weather schedule policy.
  • Progressions have changed.
    • All races 9 boats or less will run FINALS ONLY (no race for lanes)
    • All races 16 entries or less are 2 Heats, Top 4 to A Final, Remaining to B Finals
    • All races 17 entries or more are 3 Heats, Top 3 to A Final, Next 3 to B Final, remaining eliminated.
  • While the schedule shows a 3:40pm completion time, please plan to race all day.  The shortened schedule is to allow for possible weather delays with the least chance of canceling races.
  • Heat Sheets will be updated and sent out ASAP.

WEATHER DELAY PLAN

If there is a delay in racing due to weather, the following will occur:

  • Alert will be sent via Remind App (http://www.remind.com/join/fsrasweeps)
  • Racing will restart 90 mins after the last lightning strike (30 min wait for all clear, 1 hour to launch).  That time will be reset with each future strike and the new restart time will be set out via Remind App.
  • If there is a weather delay before the lunch break, the lunch break will be removed when racing restarts and we will maintain 7 min centers for the rest of the day.
  • Racing may go as late as 7pm.  Park must be empty by sunset (8p)

COURSE EVACUATION

Should weather trigger a racing delay, everyone must immediately seek safety (Strike 0-10 Miles). Tents and the bottom of the finish line tower are NOT approved options for safety. Everyone will need to seek shelter in vehicles- personal cars or team buses. Once an evacuation is triggered the racing delay is 90 minutes. The delay includes a 30 minute window to make sure weather is clear AND an hour to allow teams to prepare for racing restarting.

WEATHER UPDATE #1
Thursday 4/27/23 - 11:50am

FSRA is monitoring weather forecasts for this weekend. While we feel it is too early to announce schedule changes, please be aware of a few possibilities as you plan for the weekend and prepare your crews.

  • Racing may begin as early as 7:30 am to maximize available clear weather.
  • All reasonable efforts will be made to run the full schedule, but if condensing the schedule is required, our rules state we prioritize based on SRAA bid events and point value assigned to each event. This may change the order of events.
  • A condensed schedule may remove reps and progress straight from heats to finals. Please have crews prepared to race their first race as if it's their only chance.

While we may race in the rain, lightning precautions below will be used as we evaluate course safety throughout Friday practice and weekend racing.

  • 0-10 Miles: No Racing, Emergency Landing, Seek Shelter.
  • 10 - 20 Miles: Prepare to stop racing. Hold Launching.
  • 20 - 40 Miles: Proceed with caution. Only launch crews within 45' of racing.
  • 30 min wait time from last strike in a range before all clear.

The Regatta Committee will meet Friday afternoon and issue a new update by 3pm.  All updates will be sent through the remind app, so please have your coaches sign up for this weekends group. https://www.remind.com/join/fsrasweeps It will also be posted on the "News" tab of Regatta Central.
