Junior Development - Fall 2024

In this 15-week developmental youth rowing program, athletes learn the basics of rowing and begin to develop the fitness base required for rowing competitively in the spring season. Rowers who are ready to learn about competition may participate in some of our "Fall Head Race Season". Possible races include Scrimmaging on our home course in Oak Ridge, racing our home Secret City 5k in Oak Ridge, 5k racing in Chattanooga at the Head of the Hooch Regatta, and participating in our First Annual Christmas Regatta on our home course in Oak Ridge on December 14, 2024. Race readiness is determined by our Development coaches.

There are additional fees associated with race participation and with the purchase of race uniforms.

The Junior Development Program is the foundation for our entire Atomic Juniors Program. Signed Code of Conduct, Medical form, USRowing waiver, and SafeSport certification are required.

There is no scheduled training November 25-30 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Junior Varsity - Fall 2024

In this 15-week experienced youth rowing program, athletes establish their aerobic and skill foundation for the spring season. Participation in the fall rowing "Head Race Season" is part of our fall rowing experience and includes Scrimmage Racing on our home course in Oak Ridge, 5k Head Racing at Secret City Head Race on our home course in Oak Ridge, and 5k Racing in Nashville and Chattanooga for the Music City Head Race and Head of the Hooch Regattas. Fall season wraps with our First Annual Christmas Regatta on our home course in Oak Ridge on December 14, 2024.

There are additional fees associated with race participation and with the purchase of race uniforms. Participation in the Atomic Varsity Program follows at least 1 year of Development rowing and is established by Atomic Varsity Coaches.

ORRA Membership, signed Code of Conduct, Medical form, USRowing waiver, and SafeSport certification are required.

Adult Masters Experienced Program - Fall 2024

In this 15-week experienced adult rowing program, athletes develop a broad training base through focused skill development, distance training and participation in the Fall 5k Head Race Season. Racing opportunities include the Secret City Head Race on our home course in Oak Ridge, the Music City Head Race in Nashville, the Head of the Hooch Regatta in Chattanooga, and our First Annual Christmas Regatta on our home course in Oak Ridge on December 14, 2024.

Adult Masters Development Program - Fall 2024

In this 12-week beginner adult rowing program, athletes learn the basics of rowing both on land - on the rowing machine - and on the water - in an eight-oared shell and sculling quads. In a team-based environment, rowing skill and aerobic fitness will be developed and improved upon with each session.

There are additional fees associated with potential race participation and with the potential purchase of race uniforms.

PRIVATE ROWING INSTRUCTION

This opportunity is for beginners through advanced rowers to get 90 minutes of one on one instruction with a member of the Atomic Coaching Staff. Whether you are getting in a boat for the first time or working to refine your technique after many years of competition, occasional individual feedback and instruction can be invaluable!
