PNW Pink Ribbon Row

Welcome to the 2024 Pacific Northwest Pink Ribbon Row on September 22nd.

Time has flown by and we are embarking on our 25th year for the row. To date, and together, we’ve raised over $1.3 million dollars over these 25 years!!! We’re looking forward to celebrating this milestone with you on the on the 22nd.

We have a few changes that we are rolling out this year:

Fresh New Logo and website! If you haven’t already, check out the new site at https://pinkribbonrow.org/

We moved our date out one week. We hope this gives you more time to get back to rowing and more time to fundraise. Mark your calendars and we’ll see you on the 22nd!

We’re using GiveButter for our fundraising platform. We’re ready for you to get your page set up and start to bring in the funds. Did we mention our fundraising goal this year is $150k and we need every one of you to help make this possible.

We’re very excited about this: We are going to roll out a new first place award and award ceremony. Starting this year for first place we will be awarding a pink bell for every athlete in the boat. We hope that you will join us at Gas Works Park at the conclusion of all racing for our celebration ceremony. As you likely know, when a cancer patient is finished with their treatment they get to ring a bell to celebrate. We would absolutely love it if winning crews could be at Gas Works at this time when we will all ring our bells!  Starting this year we will no longer award 2nd and 3rd place finishes.

Other things are staying the same where we are still raising money with our partners to support early detection and provide resources for new patients here in the Pacific Northwest.

We are the “home of the pink erg”!

We’re still the first fall head race of the season and we’ll still party in the park – Gas Works Park – to celebrate all our efforts.

Here are some of the logistics as we move towards our event on Sunday September 22nd:

  • Registration Opens: July 15th
  • Registration Closes: September 17th at noon
  • Virtual Coach/Cox Meeting: Thursday evening September 19th
  • Packet Pickups start at 5:30 am @ Gas Works Park
  • Racing starts at 7 am!

Fundraising

PRR's Fundraising LinnkThis year we are using a new fundraising platform called GiveButter. You can set up yours or your team’s page now. Our fundraising target this year is $150,000! Every person who donates $150 or more will receive our commemorative T-Shirt. Check out the t-shirt section of our regatta to see the design for this year’s regatta.

For the 7th year running we’re awarding a Pink Ribbon Row collectors Concept II Pink Erg. This year every junior team raising at least $8K or a masters team raising at least $10k will win an award. Last year we awarded SIX ergs! Let’s break this record in 2024!

Celebration!!! @ Regatta Headquarters

Again, this year our Regatta Headquarters will be at Gas Works Park. We’ll be at the park starting at 5:30 am. At headquarters you can watch the races, purchase event gear and the coveted Pocock pink spacers. At the conclusion of all races, we will celebrate the funds raised, name the Pink Ribbon Row costume contest winners, award the pink ergs and award this year’s Penny Lewis Cup to the winning crew. Finally, we ask for as many of you who can be there at the end to help us close out the day in memorable fashion - MORE DETAILS TO COME!!

Coach/Cox Meeting

Our Coach and Cox meeting will be a virtual zoom call on Thursday evening, September 19th. Save the date and check back for dial in details the week prior to the event. After the call we will post a recording here for review. If you have additional questions not answered in the meeting you can ask the referees at Gas Works Park when you pick up your bow cards.

Day of Communications

Stay in touch with last minute news by joining our WhatsApp, and again this year we will be live streamed on Instagram from Regatta Headquarters.

Race Packets

You can pick up your packets at Gas Works starting at 5:30 am on race day. Like last year we’ll allow one person to pick up the club’s packets. However, any crew (individual entry) that has compliance issues will be held until the issue is resolved.

Your team reps will know the status and should plan to bring the missing compliance pieces with you to Gas Works.
