PR3 Adaptive Workshop | July 2025
This adaptive workshop is for new rowers who are interested in getting on the water, who have prior on-land rowing experience.
USRowing has 3 different adaptive categories: PR1, PR2, and PR3. This workshop is for PR3 rowers, athletes with functional use of legs, trunk, and arms, who can utilize a sliding seat, and may have either a physical or visual impairment. This is a two day workshop, where athletes will be coached by two USRowing Level 1 coaches, who also are USRowing's Adaptive Coaching certified. You will be joined by volunteers and rowers from both Rocky Mountain Rowing Club and Peak Rowing. You will learn how to safely use rowing equipment, how to scull, and be in community with other adaptive athletes. Athletes should be able to commit to both sessions. More detailed information will be shared after registration, prior to the workshop start date.

This program is for rowers who have prior sweep experience and experienced rowers who want to improve their rowing in sweep boats. This is a great program for previous collegiate rowers who are getting back into the sport. Experience rowing in 4+/- and/or 2- boats preferred. Each class will build on technique and steady state rowing. This class will take place in the 8+, requiring 100% participation. If you cannot attend a session, you will be responsible for finding a sub and notifying the coach in advance.

Students must have one year of rowing prior to admission. Students should have sculled in a 2x and possibly a few times in a 1x. This is NOT for those who are brand new to rowing/sculling. 2026 Introduction to Rowing WaitlistThe 2025 waitlist has been capped. This a sign up for a the 2026 Intro to Rowing (ITR) WAITLIST. and will open April 1 It does NOT guarantee participation in the ITR program, and previous waitlist participants are NOT carried over to the new waitlist. Rocky Mountain Rowing Club (RMRC) has limited capacity and limited equipment availability. Please understand we are a volunteer club and we are making every effort to get as many people possible through this program. To sign up for club updates such as private coaching, fill out this form. The RMRC-ITR program is usually held on a weekend in May, with 2 possible sessions to choose from. You must be 18 to participate. Rowing safety, boathouse orientation and water instruction are included. Once this weekend program is completed, you will have the option to become a member of RMRC and sign up for the Novice rowing class held on T/TH mornings from 5:15am-7:00am during the summer. A reduced RMRC annual membership is extended to participants in combination with this program.
