Advanced Sweep - PORT ROWERS (current members only)

Coach: Lauren - Rowers should be experienced sweep rowers who want technique coaching. The sessions will focus on applying power and speed. This class will mostly take place in the 8+, requiring 100% participation, but we may move into smaller boats including 4- and 2- to focus on technique. If you cannot attend a session, you will be responsible for finding a sub and notifying the coach in advance. Coach: Ilia - Rowers should be proficient in rowing a 1k line in a single. The program will focus on developing your efficient and consistent rowing technique, as well as building confidence and boat-handling skills.

Advanced Singles (current members only)

Coach: Grace - Rowers should be proficient in navigating a non-linear 4k buoyed course in a single. Participation in this program is subject to final approval by coaching staff.

Intermediate Multi-Seat 1 (current members only)

Coach: Grace. Rowers should have experience and confidence in performing the rowing motion, knowledge of the parts of the rowing stroke and other rowing terms, ability to row in small boats (2x, 4x, ideally also a 1x), effectively row in unison with others, able to row 1k in 5 min. without stopping.

Advanced Multi-Seat 1 (current members only)

Coaches: Ilia and Grace. Participants should be proficient in ability to row a 1x, able to effectively row with a crew in sweep and scull boats, preferably have racing experience, and row at high stroke rates. Participation in this program is subject to final approval by coaching staff.

Intermediate Sweep (current members only)

Coach: Lauren - This program is for rowers who have prior sweep experience and experienced rowers who want to improve their rowing in sweep boats. This is a great program for previous collegiate rowers who are getting back into the sport. Experience rowing in 4+/- and/or 2- boats preferred. Each class will build on technique and steady state rowing. This class will take place in the 8+, requiring 100% participation. If you cannot attend a session, you will be responsible for finding a sub and notifying the coach in advance. Coach: Lauren - Students must have one year of rowing prior to admission. Students should have sculled in a 2x and possibly a few times in a 1x. This is NOT for those who are brand new to rowing/sculling. This program is for people who want more direct coaching in the single. Rowers should have adequate experience in bow seat. This is a great program for returning collegiate rowers who are looking to get back into the sport.

Coach: Grace - Rowers should be proficient in navigating a non-linear 4k buoyed course in a single. Workouts will be in a racing format, learning how to row in tight pods with a focus on power generation to move the boat forward as efficiently as possible. This is not a skills development program. Participation in this program is subject to final approval by coaching staff.

2025 Intro to Rowing Waitlist

This a sign up for a the 2025 Intro to Rowing (ITR) WAITLIST (2024 is full). It does NOT guarantee participation in the ITR program. The waitlist has been extensive in the past several years and Rocky Mountain Rowing Club (RMRC) has limited capacity and limited equipment availability. Please understand we are a volunteer club and we are making every effort to get as many people possible through this program. The RMRC-ITR program is usually held on a weekend in May, with 2 possible sessions to choose from. You must be 18 to participate. Rowing safety, boathouse orientation and water instruction are included. Once this weekend program is completed, you will have the option to become a member of RMRC and sign up for the Novice rowing class held on T/TH mornings from 5:15am-7:00am during the summer. A reduced RMRC annual membership is extended to participants in combination with this program.
