Desert Sprints

  • Hosted By: Tempe Rowers Association
  • 2016 Registered Regatta
The 2013 Desert Sprints will celebrate its 12th anniversary, making it the oldest boating event on Tempe Town Lake, as well as the oldest and the largest rowing event in the State of Arizona. The Sprints have grown from a local 'mom and pop' event in the early days, to a regular stop on the regatta calendar of many of the top Junior and Masters programs in the southwestern United States.

This year's event will be the first to feature the brand-new 2000m Albano buoyed race course—one of only six such courses in the western U.S. It's a huge accomplishment for the Arizona rowing community and a very exciting development for all competitors as they kick off the 2013 racing season.

For the second year, the 2013 Desert Sprints will feature Adaptive Events (1x and 2x) to accommodate a very committed and growing group of Adaptive Rowers and out of town competitors.
