DANISH ROWING HISTORY

The Rowing Union KVIK and Copenhagen’s Rowing Club were established in 1866 as the first Danish rowing clubs. Only two years later, in 1868, the first race was held by Bellevue Strand in Øresund.

The Danish Association for Rowing was established in 1887, five years before the international rowing federation, Fédération internationale des societés d’aviron, FISA. Read more...
