Spring Adult Rowing (Experienced)

Register by February 7 to save $50. For adult rowers with previous experience. Participants will row in both sculling and sweeping boats based on preference, availability, and numbers. Spring High School Competitive Rowing

High school athletes with at least one season of previous rowing experience and the desire to train hard and compete at local and regional races are eligible to join this team. Focus for the season will be on developing technical proficiency, increasing anaerobic and sprinting capacity, racing tactics, and team building. Athletes registering for this program should be prepared to attend at least 80% of practices and ALL competitions except for certain exceptions discussed with the head coach well before the competition date. Register by February 7 to save $50 *** Permission from the head coach is required for any athlete considering joining this program for the first time. *** This program is for athletes in grades 7 and 8 with at least one prior season of rowing experience who are interested in getting more involved with the sport. The goal of this program continue to build on the technical and conceptual foundations they have laid, while starting to learn the basics of training and competing in the sport. Athletes will gradually work on developing their physical fitness both in general and for rowing in particular, as well as hone their skills by learning and practicing more advanced technical concepts. Athletes will have the opportunity to put their new knowledge and skills to the test by competing at local and regional races throughout the spring. Spring High School Introduction to Rowing

High School students interested in trying a new sport, try rowing! No experience required, all are welcome. Practice occurs at the same time as Varsity rowers.

Spring Adult Introduction to Rowing

Adults interested in the sport of rowing participate in a spectrum of programs from learning the sport, to sculling, to racing in a competitive sweep boat. This 8-week session is for adults with little or no prior rowing experience. Introductory course covering basic technique, terminology, equipment handling, and fitness for all ages (18+) and abilities. NOTE: Save $100 if you also register a child for rowing; Middle School Rowing timing is concurrent to this program.

Spring Middle School Rowing

This program is for youth in grades 7 and 8 who are either a beginner with no experience, or for those who have rowed before and want to continue on a casual level. The focus of this program will be on learning and strengthening the understanding of fundamental rowing concepts, developing basic bodyweight strength and a healthy cardiovascular system, and of course, having fun! NOTE: for parents, there is an Intro to Rowing for adults that happens concurrently, register for both and save $100!

If you are new to rowing, we'll teach you to row. If you've rowed before, you'll be rowing and sculling for fitness, fun, and friendships. Meets rain or shine. A minimum enrollment is required.
