Rowers will launch from the dock at the Bates College Boathouse which is at 764 River Road in Greene, Maine 04236, approximately 8 miles north of the Bates College campus in Lewiston, on the east shore of the Gulf Island Pond section of the Androscoggin River (DeLorme Maine Atlas Map 11, D5).
The course is a stake race, starting at a marked line adjacent to the Bates College boat house on the Androscoggin River. Rowers head upstream approximately 1.5 miles, round a set stake, and return to finish at the same line.
