Summer Learn-to-Row Camp - Week 1

Learn to row with BCR junior rowers, college-bound alumni athletes, and BCR coaches. During your week at BCR, you will learn the skills and earn the fitness to become a rower. Campers will also spend time on land learning boat handling and rowing technique, rowing on the erg (rowing machine), and participating in land-based workouts. Each week will end in a camp-wide regatta.
Learn-to-Row Camp runs Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Open to students entering 7th through 12th grade. **A swim test is required prior to rowing on the water (4 mins treading water; 50 M swim). Please visit our website to download and fill out the Swim Test Verification Form and Camper Health Record.

Virtual Summer Team Training

Virtual Summer Team Training is open to all high school rowers and rising 8th grade rowers with at least one year of rowing experience. Training will be fully remote with virtual team workouts and weekly team challenges via an online platform. Athlete must have access to an erg to participate. Training will be erg based. Participants will receive a weekly workout plan for the duration of the session. Coached sessions will be held online on Tuesday and Thursday 3:30-5:00 PM. Team meetings will be held online alternating Wednesdays to review video and discuss team topics. Training volume is geared toward the high school athlete looking to improve their fitness and athleticism, and can be combined with on-water training at BCR when it is available. Rowers registered for virtual summer training will have priority registration for small boat training when it is available.

Summer Small Boat Training - High School - Session I

At this time, the Baltimore Rowing & Water Resource Center remains closed to the public. When the boathouse reopens, registration and schedule will be posted for small boat training. Open to high school rowers with at least 1 season of rowing experience, small boat training will be conducted in groups of no more than 4 rowers and 1 coach, each rower in a single 1X shell. Maas trainers and racing singles are available based on experience and skill. Social distancing practices will be observed and masks must be worn in the boathouse and on the docks at all times. Athletes will attend 2 training sessions/week, days TBD after registration. Training sessions will be held M/W/F either 6:30-8:00 AM or 8:30-10:00 AM and T/Th either 6:00-7:30 AM or 8:00-9:30 AM.
