Adult Recreational Spring
Rec Rowing is perfect for a variety of rowers with different rowing backgrounds. It is for Learn-To-Row graduates who wish to continue at a recreational level as well as experienced rowers who don’t have the time needed to commit to the rigors of the Master’s Racing program. Coaches from the DBC crew lead the practices and offer suggestions to help develop and improve your rowing technique. Opportunities to race at local regattas will be available if there is enough interest from the group. Practices will be on-the-water weather permitting, or in our historic boathouse on the latest rowing machines if not.

LTR is our introductory rowing class for adults of all ages with no previous rowing experience. It focuses on technique rather than athletic ability, and covers the basics of team rowing, equipment, water and land safety, proper rowing technique and terminology, and building strong crews through teamwork. Practices start with land training on rowing machines in our historic boathouse to develop proper technique and body mechanics, and on the water rowing using a training barge or in an 8 person rowing shell.
